A St. James High School teacher in Missouri is facing serious allegations after reportedly exchanging explicit content with a teen student, per the New York Post. Rikki Lynn Laughlin, a 24-year-old teacher, allegedly sent X-rated images and a video of herself using a sex toy to the teen via Snapchat.

The student revealed that things escalated quickly, and they even kissed. Laughlin allegedly invited the student to engage in sexual activity at her home while her husband was away. However, the student declined. An investigation was launched after a tip was received, leading to Laughlin being charged with multiple offenses. The charges included possession of child pornography and attempted statutory rape.

According to reports, Laughlin admitted to being in contact with the student through Snapchat but claimed she was unaware of his age until the day before. However, the student provided evidence to the authorities, who then searched Laughlin’s cellphone and found a video matching the student’s description. The school district has placed Laughlin on leave while an investigation is ongoing. Laughlin had been teaching classes to juniors at the high school and had the necessary certifications.

Laughlin currently facing multiple charges including possession of child pornography, tampering with a victim, and much more. Her bond has been set at $100,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on November 20th.
