Sadly, a 5-year-old boy was wounded after falling off a water slide in an amusement park, FOX reported. The unnamed child was on the double tube slide at the amusement park in Georgia when he dropped 15 to 20 feet, said a Catoosa County spokesperson, John Pless.

A bystander told WZTV that she witnessed the child

“fly out”

of the slide. While another spectator, Ginger Bence, revealed that she heard the Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park staffers blow whistles, which is a security protocol when someone is injured.

Luckily, the child was treated at the park and later transported to a hospital. The child’s condition is unknown. According to Fox News Digital, the Georgia Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire was contacted to examine the water slide.

“We have an inspector on the scene there today, but it is too early in our investigation to release any preliminary findings. We will most likely release a final report in the next few days,”

said the agency.

The amusement park informed the news outlet that the park was reopened after the agency inspected the water ride.
