For A$AP Rocky, the new year will begin with him stepping in and out of court over a trial involving A$AP Relli that has since dragged on. The rapper will need to prove his innocence against claims from his former friend.

A$AP Relli Accuses A$AP Rocky Of Shooting At Him

A$AP Rocky’s first trial began in August 2022. He was accused of firing at his ex-friend on public property following a spat. People reported that A$AP Relli, a former friend and music associate of Rocky, slammed charges of battery and emotional distress.

According to his testimony, he was good friends with Rocky, who became pompous following his musical success. However, cracks surfaced in their friendship after the death of A$AP Josh. Josh’s mom requested financial support, which Relli claimed Rocky never honored —though Rocky has countered this accusation.

The men soon encountered each other on Selma Avenue and Vista Del Mar Avenue in Hollywood. According to Relli, this was where the shooting took place — after Rocky’s threat to end his life.

A$AP Rocky Will Face Trial Next Year

As the new week rang in, A$AP Rocky appeared before Judge M.L. Vilar, who considered the evidence tendered in court. Vilar maintained that there was enough to run a trial.

From the defendant’s end, his attorney has refused to feel defeated. Joe Tacopina, representing A$AP Rocky, believes his client will be vindicated during the trial.

One of the pieces of evidence that might have influenced the judge’s stand was from Detective Frank Flores. The officer provided footage that illustrated A$AP Relli’s allegations. Although there was no clip identifying who was being shot at, there were two loud gunshot sounds.

Flores explained that following proper investigation and review of the recovered clip, the accused had a gun in his possession during the argument. But no one has been able to recover the weapon.

Had the police been able to peg the two shell casings turned in by the victim to A$AP Rocky, it would have been the nail to the coffin. However, there were no fingerprints on them.

Nonetheless, before presenting the recent clip, A$AP Relli showed the court images of the injuries he had sustained, affirming that he got himself treated. Now, he wants Rocky to cover his medical expenses and pay more than $25,000 in damages.
