    Dennis Villeneuve Intends to Cast Anya Taylor-Joy and Florence Pugh in Dune: Messiah

    Reports by Entertainment Weekly state that fans of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel Dune and its 2021 film adaptation directed by Denis Villeneuve were thrilled with the flurry of high-profile casting announcements for Dune: Part Two in early 2022.

    The absence of Alia’s casting was surprising, especially since her arrival was hinted at in the 2021 Dune. However, it has been confirmed that Alia will appear in Dune: Part Two, but only briefly and in a dream sequence. Fans are eagerly anticipating the appearance of Anya Taylor-Joy as the grown-up version of Alia in Paul’s vision of the future. Despite the small role, Taylor-Joy’s presence in the film is highly anticipated and has caused excitement among fans. Will her character play a bigger role in future sequels? Only time will tell.

    “I was deeply happy with the fact that Anya accepted this challenge of playing a ghost and a secret,”

    Villeneuve says.

    “I cannot believe that we kept the secret that long. It required so much work to keep that secret. Everybody signed with their blood.”

    Alia doesn’t appear in Dune: Part Two as her story progresses slower in the book. It was a deliberate choice by Villeneuve to create more drama and showcase the uniqueness of her birth.

    “It came out of screenwriting discussions with Jon [Spaihts] when we were trying to figure out how to increase tension and create more momentum in the story,”

    Villeneuve explains.

    “To put more pressure on Paul, we decided to compress time. We had this idea that we could create the feeling of the progression of time through Jessica’s pregnancy. I thought this was fresh and original to have a character who is pregnant and still a powerful woman, a central figure of the story. I don’t remember having seen that, especially in a sci-fi movie, and it allowed me to develop ideas that were in the book.

    Villeneuve continues,

    “When we had this idea, it was like an epiphany for me. It was one of the final bricks of the screenplay. I don’t know how the fans will react because it’s a strong curve that we took, but I felt that it was very close to the spirit of the book. I’m very happy with this idea.”

    “I love her,” Villeneuve further speaks highly of Taylor-Joy. “I would love to make Dune Messiah just to work with her and Florence more. Those actresses are so inspiring. They give me chills and the will to do another one.”

    However, when it came to Spider-Verse, (in a humorous way), he exuberantly mentioned the producers but failed to acknowledge his contribution, especially in the first two movies. He expressed a desire to give a second life to the ’90s Spider-Man show, similar to the revival of X-Men ’97 if it’s still relevant.

    The acclaimed cartoon is set in the Marvel Universe (the series that first aired in ’94 and ended in ’98) with all five seasons featuring Peter dealing with his dual identity as Spider-Man, and many other villains joining the team, such as Kingpin, Venom, and other characters.

    Semper’s notable work on the show earned him an Annie Award in 1995, particularly for the episode

    “Day of the Chameleon.”

    The Spider-Verse movie trilogy, including

    Skarsgård, who isn’t a comic book fan, had the time of his life while filming Thor with ace film director Kenneth Branagh in 2011. The actor spoke recently in an interview about what it felt like understanding Girls and working alongside Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings while enjoying his time on set.

    “The film was fun. We lived in Santa Fe, where they have more Birkenstocks and gray ponytails than anywhere else in the United States. No, I wasn’t excited. I was, ‘What the f–k?’ I didn’t know much about Thor, or I knew about the real Thor, but I didn’t know much about the comic books. So the thing was that Kenneth Branagh was directing it, and he’s good. I said ‘OK I’ll do it’ but the thing is, when you sign up for one of these, you sign up for four, so I felt I sold my soul to the devil, but I didn’t, because especially the first one, I had a lot of fun,”

    says Skarsgård

    “It was me, Kat Dennings, and Natalie Portman, the trio. We were constantly together in all the scenes, and I had so much fun and I learned so much about girls because most of the time we were stuck in a car, and we were waiting, and it was a film car and I just listened to those two girls talking about men. Yeah, I mean, I didn’t think it was like that. You learn. Why did I continue to do Marvel after that? I had a contract, and it was fun doing those small things. You don’t have to be too pretentious about what you do. It’s not a crime to do not-high-brow material,”

    he added.

    This new feature is based on DC Comic characters previously titled Superman: Legacy. The film features David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Lois Lane. The cast will include Nicholas Hoult‘s villain Lex Luthor.

    Perry White is a man with a sharp edge, the character was first introduced in 1940 in a radio serial. Being the boss of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, his nature and personality are often very tough-as-nail, the go-to father figure boss. This film’s feature marks the first Superman movie coming to the big screen since Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, with Henry Cavill playing Clark Kent.

    The film is set to release in 2025 with Warner Bros. setting the release date.
