Wendell Pierce To Star As Perry White in James Gunn’s ‘Superman’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wendell Pierce is known for his work in HBO’s The Wire as a detective on the crime series and a host of other popular roles; however, Pierce is being cast to star as Perry White in James Gunn’s Superman.

Wendell will play the role of the incredible editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet in the upcoming Superman.

This new feature is based on DC Comic characters previously titled Superman: Legacy. The film features David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Lois Lane. The cast will include Nicholas Hoult‘s villain Lex Luthor.

Perry White is a man with a sharp edge, the character was first introduced in 1940 in a radio serial. Being the boss of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, his nature and personality are often very tough-as-nail, the go-to father figure boss. This film’s feature marks the first Superman movie coming to the big screen since Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, with Henry Cavill playing Clark Kent.

The film is set to release in 2025 with Warner Bros. setting the release date.
