Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were one of Hollywood’s power couples. So, it made sense that the couple’s commitment to each other reflected inwardly. Before their marriage, before their long overdue marriage, the former co-stars purchased a $500 million French property known as Château Miraval.
The Fighter actor had 60 percent under his grip, while Angelina was left with 40 percent. But in 2014, following their “I dos,” the asset was shared equally as Brad gifted his bride 10 percent.
Once their marriage went sideways in 2016, Angelina sold off her shares to Yuri Shefler, the CEO heading Stoli, a Russian vodka brand. According to a tipster with knowledge of the legal battle between the pair,
“He owned 60 [percent] and she owned 40 [percent]. When they got married, it was a conversation where everything was all roses [at the time]. The agreement was for her to get 10 percent from him, a 50/50 agreement that they reached for one euro. It was symbolic of their partnership.”
Brad asserted that he maintained his 60 percent, adding that he possessed more control over the shares. The back and forth has been ongoing for some time, with the exes shuffling between California and Luxembourg courts.
Brad Pitt May Make Decisions Concerning the Property for “A Year or More”
The Luxembourg court has granted Brad ownership of the 60 percent he has struggled to get back. But this decision might not last for long. Despite being a final ruling in the court, sources say:
“For now, he maintains a 60/40 [split]. He maintains control of this until probably another year, or more.”
This means that Brad and Angelina’s legal battle is far from over. But at least he is having an amazing year as a 60-year-old. These days, the actor is enjoying a romance with his younger lover, Ines De Ramon.
