Two men’s spas are facing backlash and lawsuits for allegedly proposing cheap sex acts to undercover officials during a sting operation, according to the city. One spa is in Times Square, and the other is near Stuytown, offering acts for under $100, according to the New York Post.
Nichola Paolucci, a spokesperson for the city law department said, “These establishments are flouting the law and we’re moving to shut them down… Preserving quality of life for New Yorkers is a priority for the city.”
Undercover officials visited the Times Square Men Spa on West 44th Street twice back in January. Masseuses reportedly offered massages for $50, plus an extra $50 for “manual stimulation of the penis.” The building super said the basement spa is a business but was unaware of the activities.
Spa workers denied any wrongdoing, and a sign stated, “No Hanky Panky, Please keep your Underwear ON,” emphasizing their rules.
One worker said, “I’ve never seen that happen here… it doesn’t go on here.”
New East Men Spa is located on First Avenue and East 16th Street, near a school. Officers visited the spa earlier this year. Undercover officials were offered a $48 massage but had to pay $85 for extras stimulation, according to a lawsuit. A man at the spa denied any wrongdoing when approached by a reporter.
