Dad to the Rescue: Brave Father Saves His 11-Year-Old Daughter from Alleged S*xual Predator in Isolated NYC Park Area

A courageous father saved his 11-year-old daughter from an alleged sexual assault suspect, Teddy Moussignac, in Forest Park, Queens, on Monday, according to the New York Post. The 37-year-old dad and his daughter were cycling near Myrtle Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard around 5 p.m. when she rode ahead and strayed from the main path.

Moussignac, 44, allegedly emerged from bushes near Victory Field, knocked the girl off her bike, and attacked her. Police say he covered her mouth, threatened her life, and dragged her toward a secluded area while assaulting her.

The father, noticing his daughter’s overturned bike, rushed to intervene, shouting and stopping the attack. Moussignac fled but was quickly apprehended by nearby officers.

He faces charges including kidnapping, sex abuse, assault, and endangering a child, per NYPD reports. The girl was treated at Jamaica Hospital for injuries.

Teddy Moussignac, a Brooklyn resident, has a prior sealed arrest record, police sources told the New York Post. This incident has heightened community fears about safety in less-monitored park zones, as reported by ABC 7 New York.

True Hero: Kentucky Fire Major Dies While Protecting His Wife from Tornado

A Laurel County firefighter, Major Leslie Leatherman, is being hailed as a hero after giving his life during Friday night’s tornado, reportedly while shielding his wife from harm.

Leatherman of the Laurel County Fire Department was responding to a fire alarm on Sunshine Hills Road, the area hardest hit by the storm, when the tornado struck. According to WKYT and other local media outlets, emergency crews later discovered two people, a man and a woman, in a field.

The woman was reportedly crying for help with a man covering her body. It was soon confirmed that the man was Leatherman, and the woman was his wife, Michelle.

Officials believe Leatherman encountered Michelle during the chaos and instinctively used his body to protect her. The officials believe he may have done it without realizing it was her due to the darkness and noise.

His act likely saved her life. Michelle remains hospitalized with critical injuries and multiple broken bones. However, doctors expect her to recover.

“He wrapped himself around my sister,” said Leatherman’s brother-in-law, Dwight Scalf. “That’s who he was; he died protecting someone he loved.”

Suspect Held Without Bond After Slashing 8-Year-Old Girl’s Neck with Beer Bottle in Albuquerque Because She Was “In His Way”

An Albuquerque man, Nichalas San Souci, is in custody without bond after a shocking and violent attack on an 8-year-old girl inside a local pizzeria.

According to KOAT News, 24-year-old San Souci allegedly smashed a beer bottle over the child’s head. He went on to slash her neck while she was waiting for food with her family at Saggio’s, a popular restaurant near the University of New Mexico, on April 25.

The girl, who had been admiring murals inside the restaurant with her mother, suffered deep cuts that required 19 stitches. Her father, Britton Rose, described the terrifying moment he heard his wife scream across the dining room.

Police reports state San Souci claimed the child was “in his way” before launching the unprovoked attack. Witnesses told investigators the girl did nothing to provoke him.

Among the customers who rushed to help were a nurse and an off-duty paramedic, who provided emergency care until medics arrived. “She’s lucky,” Rose told KOAT, adding that major arteries were missed by mere inches.

Nichalas San Souci appeared in court on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to charges including child abuse resulting in great bodily harm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He will remain in jail as the case moves forward.

KOAT’s legal analyst, John Day, said the charges could carry more than 25 years in prison if enhanced due to the nature of the crime.

A Miami nurse, Juansette Sabrina Green, is facing serious charges after allegedly removing her mother’s ventilator, leading to her death, according to reports from NBC Miami.

Green, 54, was arrested on Friday and charged with aggravated manslaughter of an elderly or disabled adult. Authorities say her 82-year-old mother was hospitalized at Northshore Medical Center on May 5. She had severe breathing issues and was later moved to the ICU on a ventilator.

24-Year-Old Venezuelan Man Arrested for Posing as 16-Year-Old High School Student

A 24-year-old man from Venezuela was arrested for allegedly posing as a 16-year-old high school student in Ohio, according to the Perrysburg Police Department per the NY Post.

Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra was taken into custody on Monday after he pretended to be a teenager starting in January 2024. As detailed in a police report, Labrador had reached out to Perrysburg Schools in November 2023 to enroll, claiming he was homeless and an immigrant from Venezuela. He also informed the school that he was a victim of human trafficking.

When he met with school officials to begin the enrollment process, Labrador provided a birth certificate from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela that listed his birthdate as December 2, 2007. At that time, he claimed to be living at an address in Toledo and officially began attending classes on January 19, 2024.

Kathy and Brad Melfred, who had previously hosted exchange students and adopted children, agreed to help Anthony Labrador. He began living with them on March 21, 2024. They were granted permanent guardianship by the Wood County Common Pleas Court Juvenile Division and assisted him in obtaining a social security number and an Ohio driver’s license.

However, on May 14, they were contacted by Evelyn Camacho, who claimed that Labrador was

“actually a 24-year-old and he was the father of her child,”

police said. After investigating, the United States Border Patrol confirmed his true birthdate of March 27, 2001, and noted that he had an expired work visa, making him

    “an overstay in this country.”

Labrador was arrested on Monday at 4:15 p.m. while riding in a vehicle on Interstate 75. He faces forgery charges, according to police.

Teacher Terminated for Allegedly Hitting Students with Yardstick for Taking Too Long to Wash Hands

A mother is furious after claims that a teacher struck her child with a yardstick for taking too long to wash her hands, as reported by MIRROR.

According to the mother, the incident took place at Sousa Middle School in Washington DC, where a teacher allegedly swatted her 14-year-old daughter’s bottom while she was washing her hands after a science project. The mother stated that the incident occurred just as the school bell rang, with the teacher urging her daughter to hurry up. The student later reported the incident to the school counselor.

The District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) is currently looking into the incident. Janel Doy Johnson, the mother of the teenager, told FOX5 that there are reportedly additional allegations of inappropriate behavior involving the teacher. The student also alleged that the teacher placed a brush given by another student into his pocket, suggesting that he did this so she would have to reach into his pocket to retrieve it.

In response, school principal Brittany Green-Pascal sent a letter to parents stating,

“I am writing to make you aware that an allegation of corporal punishment has recently been made against a Sousa staff member. DCPS treats any allegation of employee misconduct with the greatest importance.”
