62-Year-Old Youth Basketball Coach Charged After Allegedly Molesting A Child Under 13 Years Old

A Westchester County youth basketball coach, 62-year-old Dwayne Murray was charged with molesting a girl under age 13 on at least two occasions over five months, according to prosecutors. He coached the Mount Vernon Junior Knights team and is being held without bail on a felony charge of sexual conduct with a child. Susan Cacace, the District Attorney, mentioned that Murray made “some admissions” about the abuse, per the New York Post

Cacace said, “It is alleged that between Oct. 1, 2023, and March 1, 2023, Murray engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child who is less than 13 years old, including one act of oral sexual conduct.”

She continued, “There is no crime we take more seriously than offenses committed against children, especially offenses of a sexual nature.”

Officials took Murray’s phone and electronic devices, discovering text messages where he discussed performing oral sex on the youngster. He was apprehended and arraigned on Wednesday in Mount Vernon City Court. This arrest followed a long winded Facebook video where he claimed the allegations were “completely false.” The District Attorney did not say if the victim was on Murray’s team or where the abuse happened.

  • Illegal Immigrant Out On Bail Arrested For Allegedly Leaving 6-Year-Old Son To Die In Car In 100-Degree Weather

Illegal Immigrant Out On Bail Arrested For Allegedly Leaving 6-Year-Old Son To Die In Car In 100-Degree Weather

A father in California is accused of leaving his 6-year-old son to die in a hot car during a heat wave. Officials say he is an illegal immigrant who was released on bail after a recent arrest, and they blame state sanctuary laws for the tragedy. 27-year-old Briant Reyes Estrada pleaded not guilty to murder and child abuse charges after his son died from heat-related injuries, per the New York Post

Dan Dow, District Attorney said, “I am angry this boy died so unnecessarily. And I am even more incensed to learn this child’s death could have been prevented.”

The father is accused of leaving his son in a hot car at the Paso Robles Inn parking lot last Saturday when temperatures reached around 99 degrees. After some time, Reyes Estrada transported the boy to the hospital, but he was declared dead there. The father was apprehended and charged with murder and child harm. Officials revealed he was an illegal immigrant recently released from felony charges.

“An illegal alien arrested on felony charges walks free then — two weeks later — allegedly causes the death of his 6-year-old son, who was allowed to die in a parked car on a hot day,” said US Attorney Bill Essayli on X.

“ICE issued a detainer to deport this alien, but he was released from jail because of California’s sanctuary state laws. Had California allowed local law enforcement to honor the immigration detainer against this defendant, this child would be alive today,” he continued.

He was apprehended for multiple charges, including misdemeanor false impersonation, forging a driver’s license, and two counts of embezzlement related to an incident on April 29. At that time, he was transported to the San Luis Obispo County Jail, said Dow.

  • Justin Bieber Declares He Is ‘Not Among’ Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Victims As the Rap Mogul Faces a Sex-Trafficking Trial

Justin Bieber Declares He Is ‘Not Among’ Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Victims As the Rap Mogul Faces a Sex-Trafficking Trial

At the height of Diddy’s trial, where he faces allegations of sexual trafficking, pop star Justin Bieber aimed to dispel rumors surrounding his relationship to the Hip Hop mogul.

“Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” the “Peaches” crooner’s rep told Page Six Thursday. “Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.”

Last year, fans speculated that the 31-year-old “Baby” singer might have been a victim of Combs’ purported behavior. At that time, old videos of the two resurfaced, including one deemed “creepy,” in which they discussed the 48 hours they would spend together when Bieber was just 15. Another clip featured Combs urging the young pop star to keep the details of their time together a secret.

“Where we hanging out and what we doing, we can’t really disclose, but it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream,” Combs, 55, can be heard saying in the clip.

Initially, Bieber chose not to address the allegations directly, but sources told People that his primary focus was on his son, Jack Blues, and his wife, Hailey Bieber.

Melania Trump’s Statue Cut Off at the Feet and Stolen from Her Homeland of Slovenia

A bronze statue of former First Lady Melania Trump has been stolen in her home country of Slovenia, with a daring thief cutting it off at the ankles, according to the NY Post.

The sculpture, which was secured to a tree stump in a field near Melania’s hometown of Sevnica, disappeared on Tuesday, as reported by Agence France-Presse. Authorities noted that the life-size statue had been cut off at the feet.

“The theft was reported on 13 May and immediately police officers visited the crime scene and launched an investigation,” a police spokesperson said Thursday.

This artwork, created by American conceptual artist Brad Downey, was put in place after a wooden statue resembling the First Lady was destroyed by arsonists in 2020. Downey expressed that he felt “a bit sad that it’s gone.” “My feeling is that it has something to do with the new election [of Donald Trump], but who knows, right?” the artist said.

  • Woman Shoots Boyfriend and Fires Bullets Into Nearby Apartment After Finding Him Cheating

Woman Shoots Boyfriend and Fires Bullets Into Nearby Apartment After Finding Him Cheating

A woman is facing charges for allegedly shooting her boyfriend after finding him in bed with another woman, which resulted in bullets striking a nearby apartment and causing a family to seek shelter, according to KLAS.

Jessica Kennedy, 34, is charged with attempted murder, child abuse, and domestic battery with a deadly weapon causing significant bodily injury, as per court documents. On Thursday, May 8, someone called 911 to report a shooting at an apartment complex near Fremont Street and Eastern Avenue. The caller whispered to a dispatcher, “Please come, someone is shooting,” documents said.

Officers arrived to find a man injured in a nearby alley, according to their report. The man later informed the police that his girlfriend, identified as Kennedy, had shot him. A neighbor reported to the police that she heard multiple gunshots coming through the wall, nearly hitting a child. She and her son took cover under their kitchen table until the authorities arrived.

    Woman Admits to Shooting Boyfriend

Another witness recalled hearing a man and woman arguing before the gunfire erupted. Surveillance footage obtained by the police captured Kennedy, banging on a door while holding a gun and saying, “You want to play with me?” before shooting. The woman then moved to another door, stating, “That felt good. Imma [sic] kill you [expletive]” before discharging another round, per the police report.

Kennedy, who is a convicted felon and prohibited from having a firearm, told police that she had recently “purchased a handgun on the streets… for protection,” according to the documents. She said that when she returned to the apartment, she found the victim engaging in sexual activity with another woman. “Jessica described that she was upset about the situation and [admitted] to shooting the handgun into the apartment through the window.” The victim is expected to survive, police said. • Mexican Security Chief Confirms Cartel Family Members Crossed Into U.S. As Part of Deal with Trump Administration

Mexican Security Chief Confirms Cartel Family Members Crossed Into U.S. As Part of Deal with Trump Administration

On Tuesday, a Mexican security official revealed that 17 relatives of cartel leaders made their way into the U.S. last week. This move was part of an agreement involving a son of the former Sinaloa Cartel chief and the Trump administration, per AP News.

Omar García Harfuch, the Mexican Security Secretary, confirmed a report by independent journalist Luis Chaparro regarding the entrance of family members of Ovidio Guzman Lopez, who was extradited to the U.S. in 2023. During a radio interview, García Harfuch indicated that it was evident to Mexican authorities that this occurred following negotiations between Guzmán López and the U.S. government.

Guzmán Lopez is among the brothers who are currently managing a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel following the imprisonment of the infamous Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán in the United States. Footage showed the family members crossing the border from Tijuana with their luggage, approaching U.S. agents awaiting them.

Last week, there were speculations that the younger Guzmán would enter a guilty plea to avoid facing trial on multiple drug trafficking charges in the U.S. after his extradition in 2023. García Harfuch believed this was the case because the former cartel leader, whose lawyer mentioned in January that discussions with U.S. authorities had started, seemed to be accusing members of other criminal organizations as part of a cooperation deal.

García Harfuch stated that none of the family members were being sought by Mexican authorities and emphasized that the U.S. government under President Donald Trump “needs to share information” with Mexican prosecutors, which has not yet occurred. His confirmation coincided with the U.S. Attorney General’s Office announcing charges against several top cartel leaders for “narcoterrorism,” marking the first time this has happened since the Trump administration designated certain cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

  • Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stopping Her Car to Set Sleeping Homeless Woman on Fire

Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stopping Her Car to Set Sleeping Homeless Woman on Fire

A disturbed woman has been arrested for allegedly setting a homeless woman on fire, as reported by the NY Post. The victim suffered severe burns that she needed to be intubated and was unable to identify her attacker for several weeks, according to police.

Chilling surveillance footage released on Wednesday shows a car making a U-turn before stopping next to a 49-year-old woman who was sleeping on a street in Sacramento on April 26.

The driver then gets out calmly, carrying a canister, and approaches the sleeping woman. She then pours an unknown liquid over her, as shown in the video. In an instant, the woman erupts into flames.

The driver then seems to have a confrontation with someone before quickly returning to her car and fleeing the scene. The victim sustained severe burns to about one-third of her body, including her face, torso, arms, and back. She was intubated at a local hospital for over two weeks, reports note. The woman recovered enough to speak with investigators on Tuesday and reportedly identified her attacker as 34-year-old #JacquelinePopaibarra, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. The victim’s name has not been disclosed.

The sheriff’s office stated that both women knew each other but did not provide details about what might have motivated the brutal attack. According to the sheriff’s office, Popaibarra, who is not homeless, even kicked the burning victim before fleeing the scene.

Popaibarra was already in the custody of the Sacramento Police Department on an unrelated robbery charge when she was identified as the suspect in the arson case. She has since been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, arson causing great bodily injury, and mayhem, with her bail set at $450,000.

  • Teen Accused of Strangling 14-Year-Old Girlfriend and Dumping Body in River After She Announced Pregnancy

Teen Accused of Strangling 14-Year-Old Girlfriend and Dumping Body in River After She Announced Pregnancy

A teenager from Upstate New York has been charged with murdering his 14-year-old girlfriend because she was pregnant with their child, and he “wanted nothing to do with her baby,” prosecutors stated per the NY Post

Now 17, the teen was charged with second-degree murder more than two years after his former girlfriend, Samantha Humphrey, was removed from the Mohawk River, per an indictment made public on Wednesday. Humphrey, who was from Schenectady, had been missing for three months before her body was discovered in the river, having been strangled before being dumped.

The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed due to his age, acknowledged being with her on the night of her disappearance and having an argument, as reported by Humphrey’s mother, Jaclyn, to CBS6 at the time. “We believe that Samantha thought she was pregnant and that this sometime boyfriend was the father,” Schenectady County District Attorney Robert M. Carney told a news conference Wednesday.

“He wanted nothing to do with her baby and insisted she got rid of it,” the DA said.

The teenager was charged with theft in addition to the second-degree murder of Humphrey, according to the indictment. As a juvenile, he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life, which is less than the 25 years to life he would receive if charged as an adult. He pleaded not guilty in Schenectady County Court on Wednesday and has been placed in a juvenile detention center.

Humphrey was last seen alive on November 25, 2022, wearing a black and pink puffy jacket, bell-bottom jeans, and tan Timberland boots. Her cell phone and a jacket matching her description from the night she went missing were found within the first week of her disappearance.

  • Plane Passenger Pleads Guilty After Trying To Open Emergency Exit and Stabbing Flight Attendant

Plane Passenger Pleads Guilty After Trying To Open Emergency Exit and Stabbing Flight Attendant

A man from Massachusetts has confessed to a frightening “midair attack” where he attempted to open an airplane’s emergency exit and threatened to kill everyone on board. 34-year-old Francisco Severo Torres was restrained by passengers during a United Airlines flight in March 2023 after he attacked a flight attendant with a spoon, according to the New York Post

Torres pleaded guilty to interfering with flight crew members using a dangerous weapon, according to Massachusetts US Attorney Leah Foley’s office. His sentencing is scheduled for July 17, where he could face life behind bars. About 45 minutes into the flight, an alarm sounded after a flight attendant saw someone messing with the emergency door.

Torres was questioned about tampering with the door handle. The crew saw him as a threat and asked the captain to land quickly. Soon after, he stood up, claimed he would “take over this plane,” and attacked a flight attendant with a broken spoon, stabbing her three times “around her neck.”

Passengers tackled Torres, and the flight crew helped restrain him until the plane landed at Logan Airport. He later informed officials that he wanted to open the door to jump out, aware many would die. A judge found him mentally unfit for trial back in July 2023.
