  • London Cop Revealed As “One Of The Worst Ever Serial Rapists In The UK”

London Cop Revealed As “One Of The Worst Ever Serial Rapists In The UK”

David Carrick has worked as a police police officer with the London’s Metropolitan Police since the year 2000. After working worked in an elite armed unit, tasked with guarding embassies and parliament for over 20 years, the 48-year-old is now being regarded as one of the worst serial rapists in modern criminal history in the UK, Vice reported.

On January 16th, Carrick pleaded guilty to 49 offences including 24 counts of rape, nine counts of sexual assault, and five counts of assault by penetration. It has now been revealed that Carrick had admitted to 43 other charges, including 20 counts of rape, in court last year.

“He invested time in developing relationships with women to sustain his appetite for degradation and control,” explained Iain Moor, who led the investigation of Carrick. “The coercive nature of his offending undermined his victims in the most destructive way. Many of the rape offences came with violence against the victim, who would have been physically injured.”

According to Vice, the Metropolitan Police had been notified about nine incidents between the years 2000 and 2021, but took no action due to his accusers “mysteriously” withdrawing their complaints. Assistant Commissioner Barbara Gray has since apologized for not removing Carrick from his position sooner, despite the multiple women reporting him.

“We should have spotted his pattern of abusive behavior and because we didn’t, we missed opportunities to remove him from the organization,” she said. “We are truly sorry that being able to continue to use his role as a police officer may have prolonged the suffering of his victims.”

  • Woman Ordered To Pay Over $2,700 After Committing “Time Theft” While Working From Home

Woman Ordered To Pay Over $2,700 After Committing “Time Theft” While Working From Home

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many employers have given their workers the option to work from home. Though many would occasionally take breaks for lunch or to use the restroom, one Vancouver employee was caught lying about the amount of hours she had worked, NPR reported.

Karlee Besse was employed by for the Vancouver Island accounting firm Reach CPA. After being accused of time theft, she was let go from her position. Besse later filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against her former employer, claiming they still owed her $5,000 in unpaid wages. The company responded by taking her to court.

According to NPR, the company retaliated by filing a countersuit. Reach CPA accused Besse of performing personal tasks when she supposed to be working. A time tracking app on her work-issued laptop, that monitored her performance and activity, showed that Besse was overpaid by 51 hours.

Besse denied the accusations, claiming some of the work had been printed out and done manually, instead of electronically, but provided no evidence.

The finally ruling dismissed Besse’s claim, and she was ordered to pay Reach CPA $2,756.80 in damages within 30 days.
