According to WREG, a former Mississippi principal of a Christian elementary school, Norman Keith Aycock, 56, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for unlawfully recording and taking pictures of students in the school’s bathrooms and locker room without their knowledge. As stated in an official statement, the former principal of Bayou Academy Elementary  has been instructed to compensate the victims and is obligated to

“register as a sex offender.”

Aycock admitted guilt for attempting to create child sexual exploitative material on two separate occasions. He also faces charges in the Circuit Court of Bolivar County, Mississippi, which are currently awaiting resolution. Reports added that he is facing 30 years behind bars.

Lynn Fitch, the attorney general, reflected on the incident

“Safeguarding our children from predators is one of my top priorities….While we cannot undo the harm that has been done to these victims, we can work together to ensure justice is served.”

According to reports, an investigation was initiated in January 2022 at Bayou Academy when a student found a concealed camera in the girls’ locker room’s bathroom. Through investigation, the police identified Aycock as the person behind the hidden camera, which was found not only in the office where he interacted with students but also in various other locations within the school.

Clay Joyner, the U.S Attorney, expressed his thoughts

“I can think of few things more despicable than a school official betraying the trust of parents, children, and the community in the most profound way possible – the sexual exploitation of students in his care.”

“The sentence imposed by Judge Mills, in this case, will mean that this defendant will spend the rest of his life in prison and should serve as a stern warning to anyone entrusted with the care and protection of our kids who would ever consider violating that trust,”

Joyner continued.
