Fatal Propeller Accident Claims Photographer Named Amanda Gallagher’s Life During Airport Photo Attempt

Amanda Gallagher’s routine for the day was to photograph skydivers. Once the skydivers dived, she immediately rode the aircraft downwards. Air Capital Zone claimed that the Cessna 182 nestled safely in a Derby site just outside Wichita. However, the plane’s engine was still left to run.

Despite realizing that the plane was still on, Gallagher proceeded to hop in front of the wing. Air Capital Drop Zone emphasized that this move was evidently against safety procedures. But it was not until the victim decided to take a few steps back to capture the moment that tragedy struck. Per ABC7, Gallagher’s backward movement led her to the plane’s propeller.

Without wasting time, the victim was immediately taken to the hospital. But unfortunately, she gave in to her wounds and was soon declared dead. Amid this version of the story from Air Capital Drop Zone, investigations are still ongoing. Sources confirmed that the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety are neck deep in investigation.

Gallagher’s untimely death has left many devastated. Following her death, friends and loved ones grieved online. Despite the tragedy, they chose to remember her as a kind and adventurous lady. Via a post, Ashley Nicole Willard explained that they had a close relationship. She described the deceased as a close family friend and sister. A GoFundMe has also been set up to honor the deceased.
