Florida Man Arrested After Throwing Chicken Wings At His Wife During Argument

A Florida man is now facing an assault charge after a heated argument about his alleged infidelity led to him throwing a box of chicken wings at his wife, The New York Post reported.

On Sunday night, police were notified about a domestic disturbance in a home in Wildwood, Florida. When officers arrived, a woman with sauce “under her chin/neck area as well as on the thin shoulder strap to her shirt” and a baby in her arms explained that she wanted to be taken somewhere safe.

According to police reports, Robert Francis Audette asked his wife for money so he could have a night out with friends, but she refused, stating that the money would be used on a mistress. Audette denied the accusations, and became irate, eventually throwing a cardboard box containing takeout chicken wings at the victim. The suspect’s wife then locked herself inside of their bedroom and refused to let him in.

“When the victim didn’t open the door, the defendant is heard yelling ‘I’m about to beat your f****** a**’ and began violently banging on the door,” police documents report. Despite there being audio evidence of the incident, Audette denies that he threatened to harm his wife.

The 38-year-old was arrested and has been charged with with simple assault, a misdemeanor. The next day, he was bonded out and released from the Sumter County Detention Center.
