According to PageSix, Good Morning America host Michael Strahan has returned to hosting after being absent for over three weeks due to personal family issues.

Joining his co-hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos at the desk on Wednesday morning, Strahan’s return was met with tears of joy and cheers from the backstage crew.

The former NFL star responded warmly to the love shown towards him, stating,

“It is great to be back with both of you. Thank you, guys.”

For his grand appearance, Strahan looked dapper in a purple and pink plaid button-down, navy suit, and navy tie with pink peonies and roses.

During his absence, neither of his co-hosts mentioned the reason for Strahan’s absence on the morning show. However, it was revealed that he took a break from the show to attend to private family matters.

An ABC spokesperson had previously stated,

“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

Strahan has also been absent from his

Game in Los Angeles, except on Mondays and Fridays. His co-hosts mentioned his absence, noting that he was dealing with a

On November 5.

While Strahan has been quiet on social media, with no recent posts on his Instagram account since October 25, he has temporarily been replaced by Linsey Davis on

During his break.

Having started as a full-time team member in 2016 after contributing to the show since 2014, Strahan’s ABC career began in 2012 when he became the co-host on

Alongside Kelly Ripa.
