G Herbo has been given a lighter sentence for his involvement in a federal fraud case. The court determined that he would serve probation lasting for three years rather than sentencing him to jail.

G Herbo Sentenced To Three Years Probation

Following the court’s guilty verdict on Jan. 11, G Herbo was sentenced to probation with some conditions attached. He is required to pay about $150,000 in total. The fee for restitution was summed up to $139,878, with a $5,500 fine attached.

G Herbo faced indictment in 2020 alongside his then promoter, Antonio Strong, who maintained his innocence. The rapper explained that his connection with Strong was not too deep to explore the fraud accusations levied on him.

VIBE caught wind of the documents filed in 2018 by the US attorney’s office, where G Herbo cleared his name by explaining that he never gave or received anything valuable from the promoter. But the prosecutors lumped the pair, claiming that they worked in sync.

The fraud case against G Herbo was that he partnered with Strong to use stolen payment and confidential details from credit cards. The wealth amassed was used to live in affluence including jets, luxury cars purchases and a villa rental in Jamaica.

According to the prosecutors, G Herbo deceived the public with his ill-gotten wealth. “On social media, Mr. [Herbert] Wright boasted an extravagant lifestyle,” United stated in the release.

“He gave the impression that his use of private jets, luxury cars, and tropical villas were the legitimate fruits of his booming rap career as ‘G Herbo.’

However, his lavish lifestyle was shamelessly built on deceit and fraud using stolen account information that inflicted substantial harm on numerous businesses, leaving a wake of victims burdened with financial losses,” Joshua S. Levy, US Attorney, emphasized.

Investigations into G Herbo’s fraud commenced when the credit card owners noticed the discrepancies. Though the rapper has yet to speak on his sentence, Joshua is confident that is the best example. The attorney mentioned that nobody is above the law.
