Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with killing George Floyd got shanked 22 times in prison by an ex-gang member who wanted to pay homage to Black Lives Matter with the stabbing.
John Turscak, 52, reportedly said he plotted the attack on Chauvin for a month and would have killed him if guards hadn’t intervened. The Mexican inmate reportedly st*bbed Chauvin on Black Friday to be symbolic with the Black Lives Matter movement.
He was set to be released from prison in 2026 but now faces 60 years in prison for the attack, according to the Bureau of Prisons.
