After years of hiding involuntarily in her home and the prison walls, Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared a mirror selfie. This record-breaking moment for the 32-year-old came immediately after her release from prison. Blanchard, who looked harmless in the photo, was accused of a role in her mom’s murder.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Free But Caged By Guilt

Gypsy was punished for her involvement in taking a life— the life of the one who gave her life. In 2015, she contracted her former boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill Dee Dee Blanchard.

The former lovers had met through a dating app, and Dee Dee’s existence would have killed their romance. Investigations posit that Dee Dee caged her daughter for years, lying about illnesses that never existed.

In Gypsy’s defense, she was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy. The condition involves a loved one lying about certain diseases to act as a caregiver for the alleged invalid.

Amid ending her horrors following her mom’s death, Gypsy wished things had turned out differently. While speaking to People, she confessed:

“If I had another chance to redo everything, I don’t know if I would go back to when I was a child and tell my aunts and uncles that I’m not sick and mommy makes me sick, or, if I would travel back to just the point of that conversation with Nick and tell him, ‘You know what, I’m going to go tell the police everything.’ I kind of struggle with that.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Freedom Post Gains Support

On the first attempt to be on her own in the outside world, Gypsy Rose showed a dash of confidence. The 32-year-old took baby steps in announcing herself online. She shared a mirror selfie with a hotel room as the backdrop.

Gypsy Rose’s two million followers spotted her in a by-colored top and blue jeans. She allowed her natural beauty to glow through the radiant smile across her face. The brunette beauty added poise to her posture with crossed legs and a hand on the hips.

Within minutes, Gypsy’s post gained likes and comments as supporters poured out their love for her. Jennifer Turpin, the eldest Turpin child who was abused for years by her family, chimed in with words of support.

She quipped:

“Awesome! Looking fab!”

Many fans focused on her mental health, advising the 32-year-old to look out for herself. Gypsy is certainly ready for some me-time, but she has her regrets.

“Nobody will ever hear me say I’m glad she’s dead or I’m proud of what I did. I regret it every single day,” she said.
