J.K. Rowling, famously known as the author of Harry Potter, appeared to have written some tweets targeted at the transgender community. On Tuesday, Rowling shared an image on Twitter that read,

“Repeat after us: trans women are women,”

which she incorporated her own comment saying

“no.”

Her tweet caused many Twitter users to comment offering their own opinion about the matter. One user commented seemingly referring to the U.K Labour Party law’s effort to put in place regulations that protect transgenders from hate crimes. The user wrote, “Vote Labour, get a two-year stretch!”

The author responded,

“I’ll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex. Bring on the court case, I say. It’ll be more fun than I’ve ever had on a red carpet.”
