Issa Rae has two new projects in the works; this comes shortly after her comedy series goes off the HBO network, per The Jasmine Brand. Maybe she had her hands occupied while pushing her show “Rap Shit,” or maybe she is just creative. Whatever it is, Rae is getting ready to excite viewers again. The entertainer spoke about her work in progress after calling out Hollywood execs.

Issa Rae Says Black Shows Are a Target

After two years of captivating episodes involving two pals trying to make a name for themselves in the rap community, HBO announced that Issa Rae’s project would be canceled.

Issa Rae took a shot at Hollywood executives, claiming that there were no longer smart ones to make the right choices. According to her, the Hollywood business is becoming more money-inclined rather than creative. She added:

“You’re seeing so many Black shows get canceled, you’re seeing so many executives—especially on the DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] side—get banned. You’re seeing very clearly now that our stories are less of a priority.”

The creator of “Rap Shit” affirmed that the negligence of black entertainment would not stop her. If anything, the push has fueled her passion to make her shows independently.

Issa Rae Has Two New HBO Shows Coming Up

For Issa Rae, there is always sunshine at the end of the tunnel. While acknowledging that she has learned a great deal, the producer of “Insecure” announced that two new HBO shows will be released soon. Though no names were given, Rae assured that she worked solely on one while the second was collaborative.
