Jason Momoa is more than Aquaman, he seems to know the future. Recently, the actor shared his hopes for the new installation of the franchise while explaining what’s to come — or not to come.

Jason Momoa Says No Aquaman Future

Since the invention of the DC hero Aquaman, Jason Momoa has been on a jolly good ride. The actor has done incredibly well assuming the role in action and physique. Following his feature in the soon-to-premiere Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, he may be hanging the cap.

During his London interview with Ash Crossan, one of ET‘s correspondents, the actor said he may be at the end of the road. The only hope for a continuation of an Aquaman story is if the audience says so.

In his words:

“The truth of it is, I mean if the audience loves it, then there’s a possibility. But right now, I’m like, ‘it’s not looking too good.’”

Momoa did not automatically condemn the “Aquaman” character. He has nothing but love for the King of Atlantis. If it was up to him to decide, there are many dimensions the story could explore. However, he reiterated that the ultimate decision lies with the viewers and how they respond.

With or without the movie’s possible future, Momoa will retain his ties with the DC world. Ever since he began to work with James Gunn and Peter Safran in 2017 on Aquaman, he has felt like family. Despite what seems like the end of the road, Momoa is grateful he got to play Aquaman as it influenced his reality.

“It makes my heart smile…I had roles before, [but] they’re nothing like this. You have kids coming up, really excited to see you, and adults. But at the end of the day, my passion growing up was always about the oceans, and being Polynesian, and being an activist. It’s cool because I get to like do that in my real life and [playing Aquaman] also obviously puts [those interests on] a higher platform,” said the actor.
