It has been three years since the Grammy winner decided to leave her first and only marriage. She was married to Brandon Blackstock, her former manager, for almost seven years. It has been three years since the separation, and Kelly Clarkson has moved on and relocated to a new city — New York City.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host, who shares two kids, River Rose and Remington Alexander, with her ex now films from NYC. For her latest installation, she delved into her life history, explaining what life is as a successful woman. Per People, she shared:

“I love my kids. I have my family and friends, I have my jobs. It’s all these beautiful things that are working really well.”

Amid how loved she is by family, friends, and fans, Kelly explained that love has been a sensitive issue for her. Sadly, she has never been very lucky. So, moving forward, she accepted the reality that love can be hard. In her case, it would also mean leaving someone who is not good for you. Despite the excruciating feeling that comes with the loss, Kelly admitted:

“That’s a hard thing to face. But when you do, I think you grow.”

Kelly Clarkson On Dating And Marriage

Kelly Clarkson’s revelation following her relocation to NYC comes with a truckload of lessons, and it has fueled her future actions. Amid staying in a marriage for another seven years, the divorcee maintained that she never wanted to get married.

Now, on the single block, Kelly says dating is not on her list either. She feels wholesome and would want the same energy reciprocated. In her words:

“Dating sucks. It’s so awkward… but I don’t need anything.’ I’m really good right now, I’m having a good time.”
