Doorbell footage posted to TikTok shows the moment a 7-year-old girl escaped a would-be kidnapper.

on TikTok has since garnered over 42,000 views with users praising the young girl’s
“quick thinking.”
The clip shows 7-year-old, Emmy, lying on the concrete outside her home when a green Ford Taurus suddenly drove up on the side of the curb near her. The driver is heard saying,
“Hello”
which immediately prompts Emmy to look up. She is seen getting up from the ground and running towards the door.
The man can be heard asking her,
“Do you want a bicycle?”
to which she replies,
“No”
before running into the house. The incident occurred in Salt Lake City, Utah, and police are now searching for the suspect in question. Emmy told local reporters,
“I didn’t want to go with him because he was a tricky man and I didn’t know him, so I didn’t want to go with him.”
Her mother, Michelle, told interviewers that she is proud of her daughter and has taught her children about
“stranger danger.”
However, some users criticized the mom for letting her child play outside alone. User,

commented,
“Her mom should of been outside with her never let [your] kids outside by themselves.”
