Sadly, a man has died and his two teen sons have been injured after a grenade they discovered with their grandfather’s old possessions exploded, authorities say. According to the New York Post, the incident took place on Saturday at a home in Indiana. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department says that the pin on the explosive was pulled by someone leading to the eruption inside the home close to 6:30 p.m. reports WGN-TV.
When officials arrived at the scene, they discovered a man who was unconscious and was later declared deceased. The man’s teen sons were transported to the hospital with shrapnel injuries, officials say.
The Porter County Bomb Squad was also at the scene to specify if there were any more explosives at the home. The incident is still under investigation.
