Police have arrested 32-year-old Kristina Chambers, for allegedly drunk driving and fatally striking a man at 100 mph, Law & Crime reported.

The incident occurred on April 19 at about 2:30 a.m. in Houston. According to authorities, Chambers was driving 100 mph in a blue Porsche 911 Carrera when she suddenly hit the curb, ramming into 33-year-old Joseph McMullin. The victim was reportedly leaving a donut shop with his date.

Sadly, McMullin died at the scene. Chambers and two passengers in the Porsche were taken to the hospital where they were treated for their injuries. According to court documents obtained by ABC Houston, Chambers had a blood alcohol content over four times the legal limit. She was booked into jail on Monday.

Chambers was charged with intoxication manslaughter and remains in custody on a $50,000 bond, reports reveal. She was seen in court on Wednesday in a wheelchair, her leg in a cast and her arm in a sling. Chambers’ defense attorney Mark Thiessen said his client is innocent and blamed the crash on

“poor road conditions.”

“We are going to get all the evidence in discovery and properly look at whether this was a crime or should just be a civil lawsuit,”

Thiessen said per the Chronicle.
