Massage Parlor Owner Charged After Reportedly Holding Worker Captive To Perform Sexual Acts On Clients

Kandiyohi County Jail

Ying He, a massage parlor owner in Minnesota, was accused of imprisoning a worker in a dark room and closely watching her to force her into sexual activities with clients. He was arrested after a distress call at Massage Therapy in Willmar, reports the New York Post

When the officer arrived at the scene, they discovered the distressed caller sitting on the floor, crying loudly. They used a translation app on her phone to communicate. The victim revealed that she had been struck on the head by He, causing dizziness and a headache. She also stated that He had restricted her access to water and food, confining her to a dark, “small room.”

The woman was brought to the hospital after making the troubling accusations. She informed the police that she had traveled from Southern California to Minnesota in search of employment, specifically a non-sexual massage job. She had paid a Los Angeles agency $100 to assist her in finding such work. In order to reach Minnesota, she purchased a $630 ticket, believing that He would reimburse her for the cost.

He supposedly organized an Uber to get the woman from the airport. When they arrived at the Massage Therapy establishment, the owner’s true intentions allegedly became apparent. The owner reportedly locked the victim in a small room and instructed her to comply with the customers’ requests, which included engaging in sexual acts.

He allegedly controlled every aspect of the woman’s life, dictating when she could eat and bathe, and she was not allowed to leave the establishment. The victim was afraid to escape because he claimed his boss was a powerful lawyer who would find her. After the victim reported the disturbing incidents to the police, they returned to the massage parlor. The owner denied any abuse or confinement.

The owner was later arrested and is facing multiple charges including

“one felony charge of soliciting an individual to practice prostitution,”

reports say.
