Meek Mill has somehow managed to withstand the criticism he received from Africa following his tweet about how they listen to his music. Many believed that Meek’s message was filled with pride and lacked reasoning. However, here is what he had to say.

Meek Mill’s Africa Tweet That Put Him on the Troll List

Meek has visited various countries in Africa, including South Africa and Nigeria. The rapper, who is beloved in both countries, has collaborated with their top artists and performers on stage. However, he was not convinced by how his fans listened to his music. Last week, Meek made an Africa-themed tweet asking how they accessed his music.

Via Twitter, he wrote:

“Do a lot of people play my music in South Africa? I remember having a big show there a few years back… how do y’all listen to our music in South Africa? On what platform or in Nigeria?”

Unfortunately, fans did not take it lightly, and they made sure to express their displeasure. Some attacked the musician’s personality and tone. A few Nigerian fans even brought up his past failed relationship with Nicki Minaj.

Meek Mill Clarifies with Another Tweet for Fans in Africa

Meek’s controversy did not unfold as he had expected. The rapper claimed that he had made an innocent tweet and simply wanted to know how he could spread his music across the continent.

According to HotNewHipHop:

“I was asking how they listen to music in Africa because I want to handle my business. None of my contracts say they have rights to distribute me in Africa… basically looking for the money trail? I don’t know what platforms are used in South Africa lol.”

Without making any effort to hide his disappointment with his initial question, the rapper added that people are “losing their sense of reasoning at a rapid pace!”
