Meek Mill Says His Dad’s Murder Inspired His Success Story

For Meek Mill, losing his dad to murder was what gave him the necessary push in life. While this is enough to make anyone sad, it has not only fueled the rapper, but he claimed it doesn’t hurt him.

Meek Mill Posts About Dad’s Murder

Meek Mill went online to let the world know that the tragedy he witnessed at age five left him a better man. According to the rapper’s now-deleted tweet:

“My dad died in 1992 during a robbery… that made me want to get rich. That was the payback. The person who killed my dad is probably 60… talking about dead people doesn’t hurt me. Having all your homies killed behind your mistake, you gotta drink lean constantly.”

Although the post has been taken down, rumors are that it is connected to the rapper’s spat with Poundside Pop.

What Prompted Meek Mill’s Post About Murdered Dad

Somehow, this might have had little to do with remembering his murdered dad, but Meek Mill has his reasons. While none has been given by the rapper yet, many speculate that his fight with another colleague might have prompted his post.

About 24 hours before Meek’s tweet, he got roasted on DJ Akademiks’ stream. The DJ’s guest, Poundside, alleged that Meek had been banned from Philadelphia. According to Poundside, Meek had tried to sign him for $20,000, and this was simply to buy out his publishing.

The allegations did not go unanswered as Meek immediately went online to shun Poundside. In more than one tweet, he slammed his accuser for running his mouth and tagging him as a snitch. Meek affirmed that Poundside had reported Uzi to Jay-Z. As the war continued, Meek turned his lens to Poundside’s dad, whom he labeled a loudmouth.
