Fans have just about one more year to wait before they watch Michael Jackson’s biopic. The buzz around this production might just be worth the wait. This time, the world will see a different side of the star’s personal and professional life.

Antonio Fuqua Talks About His Admiration For the Icon

Ahead of Michael Jackson’s Biopic release, the man leading the production talked about how much he reverenced the deceased singer. When speaking about working on the project, he chimed:

“For me, there is no artist with the power, the charisma, and the sheer musical genius of Michael Jackson. I was influenced to make music videos by watching his work—the first Black artist to play in heavy rotation on MTV. His music and those images are part of my worldview, and the chance to tell his story on the screen alongside his music was irresistible.”

Per VIBE, come 2025, Fuqua will be done making magic with his Jackson-inspired titled “Michael.”

What to know About Michael Jackson’s Upcoming Biopic

Michael is a film that will hit the cinemas on April 18, 2025. Fuqua will work with notable faces who were close to the singer. The list includes Michael’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, and managers of his estates, John Branca and John McClain. Together, the pro-Jacksons will tell the unheard tales of the King of Pop.

Unlike what the media presented him to be — a pedophile with insecurity problems, the film will be a redemption of his image.

According to the film’s description, his “triumphs and tragedies” will be highlighted, leaving fans with a story they never knew existed. All of this is seemingly how Micheal would have loved to tell his story.

The King of Pop, who sadly lived a tumultuous life amid fame and fortune, denied the heavy sexual allegations against him. Fortunately, in 2003, he was vindicated. But he did not live long after that to enjoy his redemption. In 2009, at age 50, Michael passed away.
