A mother reported her child missing in Florida. The child was found at school and revealed that he hadn’t been home for three days. The mom now faces charges of child neglect, per the Miami Herald.

Officials said,

“The mother was unable to provide a precise timeline but indicated that she hadn’t seen him.”

Detectives located the child at his school the following day. During the interview, the child disclosed that he had not been home for several days. The age of the child was not disclosed by the sheriff’s office.

During their visit to the residence, investigators discovered concerning conditions such as

“insect infestation,”

“malnourished dogs,”

and

“feces on the floor.”

The house lacked basic amenities like electricity and running water, and was described as being in a terrible state. As the 31-year-old woman was responsible for four children living there, she was charged with four counts of child neglect.

Deputies stated that the children have been relocated to other relatives for their safety. To safeguard the children’s identities. Officials revealed that the family resided with a 19-year-old who owned the house, and he has since been charged with two counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
