Music producer Timbaland recently issued an apology to Britney Spears, stating that Justin Timberlake should have put a muzzle on her, saying,

“You have a voice.”

The producer faced backlash on social media after his comments went viral in the midst of Spears’ allegations regarding Justin’s mistreatment of her following the release of her memoir,

“The Woman In Me.”

During a TikTok live stream, the producer apologized for his bizarre remarks. He further shared his apology on his Instagram page, saying,

“There’s no explanation, nothing.”

The producer continued, saying,

“Put a muzzle on you, what the freak was I thinking about? I should have never said it… To all the Britney fans, you’re right and I’m wrong. I can look outside myself and say that wasn’t a joke and that wasn’t a nice thing to say. I apologize to the Britney fans and her.”

“Never too late to apologize!!!!”

Timbaland wrote in the caption of the video.

However, some fans had already recorded the longer version of the video after the live stream ended and were not satisfied with the apology.

“Come on, man, I’m keeping it 1,000 with y’all, but I’m sorry to all the Britney fans, even to her. You have a voice, you speak what you wanna speak. Who am I to tell you what not to speak? And I was wrong, you know, for saying that.”

About a month ago, during a conversation with 9th Wonder at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Timbaland was asked by an audience member for his opinion on the ongoing feud between Justin and Britney, as one of his songs,

“Cry Me a River,”

Was trending again due to Britney’s memoir.

Timbaland responded without hesitation, saying,

“She’s going crazy, right? I wanted to call JT and say, ‘Man! You should have put a muzzle on that girl.'”

In her book, The Woman In Me, Britney spoke about a vixen who apparently resembled her, cheating on Justin, while he wandered sadly in the rain. She further mentioned feeling that the music video portrayed her in a negative light to the media as the

“harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy,”

While she was comatose in Louisiana and he was happily running around Hollywood during their breakup in 2002.

Justin has not responded to the ongoing allegations since the book release. Instead, he was spotted in Mexico with his wife, Jessica Biel, and their two children.
