A man was mauled to death by two pitbulls after mistakenly entering the wrong house, per the Daily Mail. The unfortunate incident occurred on October 4, when Antonio Shaw, 63, arrived at a residence located on North 62nd Street in West Philadelphia

As per police reports, two out of the five pitbulls present at the house viciously attacked him.

“These dogs was very vicious and hungry. These dogs were eating him like a piece of steak,”

said Sharese Jackson, Shaw’s sister.

Shaw had previously suffered from a series of strokes and lost his ability to speak, crippling him from calling out for help during the attack. A neighbor witnessed the incident and promptly called 911. Police promptly responded to the call and upon arriving on the scene they fatally shot one of the two dogs involved in the attack and injured the other. The other pitbull was later euthanized by animal control.

Shaw was swiftly transported to a hospital. However, given his pre-existing health condition, the consequences of the attack were fatal. He had undergone 15 surgeries according to his sister, but Shaw tragically succumbed to his injuries on December 4.

“It just didn’t go well for him. He was hanging in there, but it just turned for the worse,”

said Jackson.

Shaw leaves behind three children and a beloved family.

“My brother Antonio was a very wonderful person, and he loves his children and he loves his family,”

said Jackson.

“I want Antonio to know we love him, and he will never be forgotten and he was a great person,”

added Shaw.

According to authorities, the owners of the house have not been charged at this time. Shaw’s family has launched a Gofundme to raise around $3,000 to cover the funeral expenses.
