A pastor from High Point, North Carolina, was taken into custody last week after an alleged assault incident at a McDonald’s restaurant, reports the NY Post

According to the High Point Police Department, the pastor, identified as 57-year-old Dwayne Waden, was involved in an altercation with his wife’s co-worker. The wife, who during the time was training to become the manager at the franchise, reportedly called her husband with complaints that her employees were

“disrespecting her.”

On Dec 28th, witnesses stated that Waden entered the McDonald’s and approached the victim, placing his hands around their neck. He then proceeded to push the victim’s head towards one of the deep fryers. Additionally, Waden allegedly punched the victim multiple times in the face before being restrained by other employees. The victim suffered injuries to their forehead, right eye, and neck.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, but the victim chose to have their family drive them to the hospital. Police reviewed surveillance footage of the incident before arresting Waden on charges of assault and battery. He was taken to the police headquarters and later released on a $1,000 bond. Waden, who identifies as a semi-truck driver and a pastor at Elevated Life International Ministries, is scheduled to appear in court on January 22nd.
