Two men, including a pastor from Victorville, California named Samuel Pasillas, have been apprehended in connection with

“an alleged murder-for-hire plot.”

The pastor is accused of paying nearly $40,000 to have his daughter’s boyfriend murdered. Investigators revealed that Pasillas released information about the boyfriend’s location on the night of the shooting, reports the Los Angeles Times

The 55-year-old hitman Juan Manuel Cebreros, along with others, monitored the victim for weeks. On Oct. 21, the victim was struck multiple times by a gunman in a vehicle next to him.

Luckily, the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital and has been discharged; however, is still recuperating from the gunshots. Pasillas, a pastor at a Spanish-speaking church in Victorville, was apprehended for allegedly conspiring and attempting to commit murder. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, reports added.

Pasillas and Cebreros are both in jail on $1 million bail. Cebreros is suspected of conspiracy to

“commit murder, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon.”

Another person involved has not been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
