The flight, carrying 271 passengers, had to divert to Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport in order to seek emergency medical assistance. Despite receiving immediate treatment, Andaur was declared dead upon landing, with paramedics learning he had suffered a heart attack. The airline, LATAM, expressed their condolences and gratitude for Andaur’s 25-year career.
