San Antonio Woman In Critical Condition After Being Robbed Then Shot By Armed Hitchhiker

A Texas woman is now in critical condition after being shot multiple times by a hitchhiker, KENS 5 reports.

Tuesday night, at around 10:45 P.M., police in San Antonio responded to reports of a shooting. When they arrived at a McDonald’s parking, they located the two victims. One of them had been shot.

The male victim says that he and the woman passenger saw a man walking in the side of the road and offered to give him a ride home. After arriving to an apartment complex, the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded they give him their money. After receiving a small amount of cash, the hitchhiker then shoots the woman in her upper back and shoulder from the back seat, then flees the scene.

After the shooting, the driver pulled into a nearby McDonald’s parking lot and notified authorities. The female victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is now fighting to stay alive, while the male victim was temporarily detained by police for questioning.

Officers searched the apartment complex for the suspect, but they failed to locate him. Though the San Antonio Police Department currently do not have any potential suspects, but they say that the investigation is still ongoing.
