Shannon Sharpe comes for naysayers with a double-edged sword following the tell-all discussion with Katt Williams. The show host mentions his job description while adding that he is getting slammed for the wrong reasons.

Shannon Sharpe’s Interview With Katt Williams

During Katt Williams’ visit to the studio, Shannon Sharpe roared uncontrollably with laughter as the comedian poked at nearly every celebrity.

The Jasmine Brand noted that he called out Cedric The Entertainer for stealing his joke and maintained that Steve Harvey was a no-good actor. In the crossfire, some bullets hit Michael Blackson, whom Katt claimed used a fake African accent. Before the hours-long interview ended, the veteran comedian called Ludacris’ wife ugly while adding that the Fast & Furious star joined the Illuminati.

So far, his interview has stirred controversy, with some fans applauding his bluntness. While some of the entertainers have reacted with messages regarding Katt’s personal history and career.

Shannon Sharpe Gets Defensive Following His Recent Viral Interview

Online critics did not spare Shannon their thoughts following Katt’s demonstration. They blamed the Club Shay Shay host for not dishing out more intentional questions. The internet judges believe he could have asked more questions and conducted a respectable interview.

During his time on his podcast, Shannon pulled a Katt-inspired card on the naysayers, adding that his show has always been for chit-chats. He chime in:

“A lot of people have said ‘Oh Shannon left so much on the table. Shannon is not a journalist.’ I never said I was a journalist. If you listen in my intro…normally what I say, ‘the person that’s coming by for a conversation and a drink.’ I’m a conversationalist, not an interviewer. It’s a different space.”

The show host advised unfulfilled fans to feed their eyes on other interview-themed shows like 48 Hours and Dateline. After emphasizing that his Club Shay Shay only provides a relaxing scenario, Shannon claimed that the hate was intentional.

Before now, he had invited Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and DC Young Fly. His highest viewership was capped at 9 million. However, following Katt’s controversial statements, Shannon’s show hit 14 million views in about two days.

In his words:

“And this thing went, took off like wildfire…You’re upset that he said everything that he said, and he said it on my platform, and now it’s bringing attention to my platform…nothing has caught fire like this. This is what’s upsetting them.”

Apart from criticism from fans, Shannon’s show has been somewhat put down by Yung Maimi, who decided to clear the air. Following a comparison between Club Shay Shay and her “Caresha Please” show, the rapper flared up. She maintained that she was in a league of her own and did not need the comparison.
