Lovers of fashion, the Met earlier today announced its annual theme for 2024
“Sleeping Beauties Reawakening Fashion.”
Is this a statement saying fashion is extinct?
I know we all love a good Met theme, and we look forward to seeing all the beautiful celebrities on the red carpet, appearing in their unconventional outfits matching the Gala’s yearly theme.
The fashion community is looking forward to the 2024 Met Gala happening in May as the year comes to a close.
With the Met theme announced, it was said that Vogue revealed that the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute chooses to honor vintage style with Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion
Dedicating this exhibit to 50 historic pieces that are too delicate to be worn in this lifetime.
During next year’s Met Gala, the Met reveals that over 250 designs will be highlighted, designs that span across centuries, works by Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior.
As the world evolves, so does technology. The Met promises to make use of computer-generated imagery, including artificial intelligence, which will be used to build into the show in order to
“reactivate the sensory capacities of masterworks in the museum’s collection.”
Looking back at the previous Met Gala themes within the space of three years, the Met sure has its theme figured out, as fashion continues to transcend beyond what meets the eye.
