Ayo Edebiri and J-Lo have made it onto the list of celebrities who will be marking their schedules for SNL. Following a rather frustrating break stemming from the Writers Guild strike, two seasons were affected. Reportedly, the end of the 48th season and the beginning of the 49th. Moving forward, the show has proposed a cast lineup including new and returning ones.

A Host of Faces To Root For and Those Unforgettable Ones

SNL cast members from last season who will be joining the show again include Chloe Troast as a featured player. James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman, who once dominated the position, will now be considered repertory players.

According to Pitch Fork, Jacob Elordi will be hijacking the baton of hosting for the new dawn—January edition. Support will be provided by a musical guest and actress in Mean Girls, Reneé Rapp.

Other SNL hosts who participated before the break included Kate McKinnon, a well-known face on the comedy show. She anchored the last show that ushered in the holiday season. Fans would recall that Billie Eilish joined the first-time SNL host.

A breeze through the memory lane shows that SNL has had quite an era of interesting hosts. Before Kate’s stint, Adam Driver came on as a fourth-time host with singer Olivia Rodrigo. Emma Stone had begun the December episodes with Noah Kahan as her musical guest.

Ayo Edebiri from “Bear” and J-Lo join the SNL team.

Jacob will pass the baton to Dakota Johnson, who will work closely with Justin Timberlake. For the February edition, Ayo Edebiri from “The Bear” has been tapped to host with none other than the talented Jennifer Lopez. This will be Ayo’s first trial as a host. Before now, she has proven to be a skillful actress, racking up Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
