18-Month-Old Poisoned by Father’s Girlfriend, Who Reportedly Fed Her Harmful Substances Such As Acetone, Batteries, and Screws

A Pennsylvania woman is accused of fatally poisoning her boyfriend’s 18-month-old daughter by feeding her batteries, screws, and nail polish remover, reports the NY Post.

Aleisia Owens, 20, was arrested and charged Thursday. The arrest came after an autopsy revealed that, Iris Rita Alfera had fatal levels of acetone in her blood. On June 25, 2023, Iris’ father, Bailey Jacoby, left her with Owens while he ran errands. Owens, who was living with Jacoby at the time, later called him and said something was wrong with Iris. Jacoby rushed back home only to find his baby unresponsive and immediately called 911 for help.

Iris was quickly taken to a local hospital for urgent medical attention. However, due to the severity of her condition, she was airlifted to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, approximately an hour away. Tragically, the young girl succumbed to organ failure four days later.

Owens initially told officers that the child had fallen off the bed and hit her head during a

    “cramp-up”

episode. However, the autopsy conducted by the Attorney General’s Office revealed that Iris had ingested various items, including

    “water beads,”

button-shaped batteries, and a metal screw, months before her untimely death. Disturbingly, Owens had also looked up

“household products that could cause a child serious harm or death.”

Iris resided with her mother, Emily Alfera, and her grandparents, while her father, Jacoby, had visitation rights. The father was not arrested in connection to his daughter’s death.

“There was nothing throughout the investigation to show that he had any knowledge or involvement about what happened to the baby. He was questioned multiple times and was cooperative.”

Aleisia Owens is now facing multiple charges, including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault of a child, endangering the welfare of a child, and other offenses related to the child’s tragic death. She is currently held without bond at Lawrence County Jail.

Colorado Man Buried In Cement Was Killed By “Best Friend”

Two people are now in police custody after the body of a missing man was found encased in cement under a condo. According to Inside Edition, 38-year-old Haskel Leroy Crawford has been arrested and charged for the murder, and his ex-wife, 29-year-old Casie Bock, has been charged with accessory to homicide after she allegedly helped Crawford hide the body.

On April 1st, police in Aurora, Colorado received a phone call from the family of Karl Beaman. They claimed to have not spoken with 36-year-old in 11 months, which was unusual. They had wanted to reach out to his closest friend, Crawford, but he was already in jail on unrelated charges of attempted first-degree murder related to another case.

After receiving no help from authorities, Beaman’s family created a Facebook page to help locate him, where they received an anonymous message. “He’s buried under Casie Bock’s apartment in the crawlspace, under cement. Her and Leroy [Crawford] did it. I’m sorry,” the tipster wrote.

While being interviewed by police, Bock says she had returned home from work and found Crawford in her condo. Beside him, she saw Beaman lying on the floor with a plastic bag over his head. She claims that Crawford threatened to harm her if she did not help him move and hide the body.

The cause of Beaman’s death is pending a review by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. Meanwhile, his family has created a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.

Victims Of Double Homicide Filed For Protection Order Against Attacker Days Before Their Deaths

During the early hours of March 10th, at around 1:45 A.M., police in Redmond, Washington were notified about a possible shooting. When they arrived to the house, the bodies of Zohreh Sadeghi and Mohammad Milad Naseri were discovered, Fox News reported. The body of their attacker, Houston man Ramin Khodakaramrezae, was also found inside.

Zohreh Sadeghi worked as a podcaster from her home, 15 miles outside of Seattle, Washington.

Khodakaramrezaei had reportedly listened to the female victim’s podcasts, and began communicating with her,” police said in a statement. “The victim and suspect became friends, but when things escalated, she filed a no-contact order against him.”

Khodakaramrezae began emailing and texting the victim about the tech industry, building a friendship along the way. When boundaries were crossed, and Sadeghi became uncomfortable with the content of the messages sent to her, she stopped responding. He then became obsessive, and repeatedly contacted Sadeghi, once calling her over 100 times in one day. After he began showing up to conferences Sadeghi was attending, and even to their home, they contacted local law enforcement.

On March 5th, Sadeghi and Naseri were granted a protection order against Khodakaramrezaei. Due to his job as a trucker, the suspect was difficult to locate, and the protection order against him had not been served at the time of the murder. A few days later, Khodakaramrezaei broke into their home and fatally shot them before turning the gun to himself.

“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and the Redmond community following this horrific tragedy,” Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe said in a statement. “This is an incredibly sad situation, and the worst possible outcome of a stalking case. We will continue investigating what led to this tragic loss.”

  • Detective Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Homicide Victim’s Mother, Lawsuit Says

Detective Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Homicide Victim’s Mother, Lawsuit Says

A woman has taken on a federal lawsuit against a Philadelphia homicide detective who allegedly sexually assaulted and harassed her while investigating her son’s murder, Fox News reported.

The mother, who tragically lost her son to gun violence on Nov. 2, 2020, is now pursuing a lawsuit against the detective in charge of the case. According to a court filing obtained by Fox News, the woman who is referred to as Jane Doe is suing detective Donald Suchinsky,

    “a seasoned investigator,”

for sexual assault and harassment after he allegedly made several unwanted advances on her.

Suchinsky reportedly called the victim from an office phone

“and told her there were ‘things’ he wanted to do to her, but he could not say what they were,”

the lawsuit claims. The lawsuit also accuses Suchinsky of asking the woman for images. Other officers were allegedly aware of Suchinsky inappropriate behavior but did not intervene.

The lawsuit went on to say that Suchinsky went as far as to invite the woman to police headquarters and then sexually assaulted her in her car. After the alleged assault the woman asked if a different detective could be assigned to her case but no efforts were taken, according to the civil complaint. Suchinsky continued to spend months harassing the grieving mother, sending distasteful emails and phone calls, reports note.

According to court records, it appears that Suchinsky has been listed in at least three prior federal lawsuits against the city. However, the cases filed in 2019, 2010, and 1999 were all dismissed. Fox News reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department for answers to which they responded,

“The PPD cannot comment on the specifics of these allegations due to an active Internal Affairs investigation, as well as pending litigation.”
