Tom Brady is hands-on and always prioritizes outings with his kids. But his celebrity status makes it difficult to enjoy alone time with the clan fully. The 46-year-old confessed that it gets to him every time.
Tom Brady Gets Candid With John Legend About How His Kids Are In The Rear During Outings
Following the Christmas celebration, Brady poured his heart to singer John Legend. During the conversation on SiriusXM’s Let’s Go with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray, he weighed on outdoor moments.
The NFL star maintained that he is ever present for his kids and accompanies them to games when necessary. However, most times, the focus shifts from his children’s feat to his presence.
In his words:
“Whether I’m at a game for my son, and I love doing that, but, you know, a lot of times the attention gets shifted to us”
Even though Brady appreciates his fans, he knows that this might affect his children. In a refreshingly honest tone, he added:
“I don’t want to take away from their moments, ’cause this is [an] important part of their life and their maturation.”
The football champ is dad to Jack, 16, his first son from his former relationship with Bridget Moynahan. Brady also shares two kids, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, with Gisele Bundchen.
Bundchen and Brady went their separate ways over a year ago after more than a decade of being married. Neither of them shared why the split happened, but there have been speculations that his work schedule was responsible.
Regardless of how much water has gone under that bridge, the duo are handling co-parenting maturely. They live not too far from each other in the same neighborhood and agree on nurturing their kids with the proper values.
Despite being rich and famous, Brady says family time cannot be interrupted for autographs. According to Page Six, he quipped:
“When I’m out with my kids, I really wanna be with them, you know? And I really make it clear to people, ‘Sorry, I’m just out here enjoying my time with my family.”
As he fends off die-hard fans, Brady takes the opportunity to explain the situation to his brood. He lets them know that their privileged lifestyle comes with a cost, which may seem odd to non-famous families.
