Two New York State troopers were stabbed by a suspected female car thief near Buffalo on Saturday afternoon, according to officials as reported by the NY Post.

Two New York State troopers were stabbed by a suspected female car thief near Buffalo on Saturday afternoon, according to officials as reported by the NY Post

The incident took place around 3:25 p.m. when the officers approached a stolen vehicle at Crosby’s Gas Station in Bolivar. As they tried to arrest the driver, she resisted. She allegedly stabbed one trooper above the eye and the other in the head, said New York State Police.

One of the troopers discharged their firearm but did not hit the suspect, police stated. The alleged carjacker was apprehended with minor injuries. The trooper who was stabbed in the eye was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester in serious condition. The investigation is still ongoing.
