Officials say two roommates of a deceased man were charged with abusing a corpse. The roommates, Loreen B. Feralo, 55, and Karen Kasbohm, 63, reportedly propped up the deceased Ohio man’s body to withdraw money from his bank, after finding him dead and taking him there, per NBC News

With assistance from another person, the roommates placed the deceased man in the front seat of his car and drove to the bank. Previously, they withdrew money from the man’s account with his consent, per officials. They used the bank’s drive-thru teller window. Reports say it’s unclear how much money they stole.

After withdrawing the money, the pair left the body at Ashtabula County Medical Center without providing any information. One of them later contacted the facility and identified the deceased as Douglas Layman. The roommates then informed the police about their visit to the bank after officer’s visited the 80-year-old victim’s home.

The suspects have been brought to court, but it is unclear if they have entered pleas or have legal representation. According to WKYC, Casbohm’s bond is set at $5,000, while Feralo is scheduled for arraignment next week.
