Tyrese Gibson’s ex-wife, Samantha Lee, has accused him of defaulting on child support payments for the third time. According to Lee, her former husband has refused to comply with the court’s ruling. She is seeking interest on the unpaid amount and coverage of her legal fees.
Tyrese Gibson’s Child Support Issue Since 2023
Tyrese Gibson and Samantha Lee finalized their divorce in 2022, and since then, they have been in ongoing conflict. In the court’s decision regarding child support, the Fast & Furious star was ordered to pay $10,690 per month.
The judge noticed that the actor appeared dissatisfied with the ruling and clarified that the financial support was meant to provide their daughter, Soraya, with a good life. The judge emphasized that there were no winners or losers in court, except for their daughter, who lost a cohesive family.
However, a few months after the agreement, in March 2023, Samantha took her ex-husband to court, alleging that he willfully violated the payment terms. Then, in July 2023, she filed another motion accusing Tyrese Gibson of non-payment of child support.
When the case was heard in October, Gibson was ordered to make timely child support payments in the future. But not long after, Samantha Lee is once again raising the same issue.
Tyrese Gibson’s Ex-wife Samantha Lee Raises the Issue for the Third Time
The Blast confirmed that Samantha Lee, Tyrese’s ex-wife, is accusing him of failing to pay child support for two months. A statement from the court documents reads:
“[Gibson] is clearly aware of the court-ordered amount of support due to [her] based on his payment of the appropriate amount in November 2023 ($10,690.00). Yet, for the months of December 2023 and January 2024, [the actor] unilaterally decided to pay only $3,500.00 in child support.”
While she seeks a resolution to the situation, the mother-of-one is requesting “interest on the unpaid portion of her child support that has accrued.” Additionally, Samantha intends to have her legal fees covered by the actor. No response from the actor has been recorded at this time.
