Wendy Williams’ family is not oblivious to the former talk show host’s health issues. While they have since kept calm, they believe it’s time to share their perspective on Wendy’s struggles since her departure from her beloved talk show.
Wendy Williams’ Struggle Highlighted In Upcoming Docuseries
“Where Is Wendy Williams?” docuseries is set to air in a few days and will highlight her struggles including health challenges, and withdrawal from the outside world. What was meant to be an eclectic performance showcasing her comeback after leaving her talk show became Wendy’s unbelievable reality away from the camera.
As Wendy Williams battled with health issues like Graves disease and lymphedema, she also struggled with alcohol. Wendy did not hide her love for alcohol as she snatched a bottle from a family member who had tried to get rid of it.
While fans will see how much Wendy Williams deteriorated health-wise, they will also notice family watching her every move. In the docuseries, staff, loved ones and family took turns sharing how they felt about the media mogul.
Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr. explained that the talk show host’s health declined because of her addiction problem. On top of that, she faced memory loss and had to check into a facility to get treated.
Wendy Williams’ Family Speaks Out
Alex Finnie, Wendy’s niece, reflected on the “Where is Wendy Williams?” film. In a shocking confession, she revealed to People Magazine:
“We’ve all seen the images over the last few months — and, really, few years — of what has seemed like a spiral for my aunt. It was shocking and heartbreaking to see her in this state.”
Fortunately, Wendy’s state is not one without remedy. She is still in the facility where she checked in for cognitive treatment in 2023. However, not everyone has access to her except her court-given legal guardian, and this is something the family has frowned on. While lamenting about the situation, Alex’s mom, Wanda revealed:
“The people who love her cannot see her. I think the big [question] is: How the hell did we get here?”
Sadly, this is a question no one can answer, not Wendy, and certainly not those around her.
