A Tennessee woman was taken into custody after teachers reported reading their kindergartners story that detailed her parents getting into a domestic violence altercation that ended in gunshots, NY Post reported.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kaydra Johnson, 28, on Monday after receiving a call about a domestic violence dispute that ended in gunfire. A school counselor at Donelson Elementary notified Child Protective Services about the disturbing note who then notified authorities. Johnson allegedly shot at the father of her children inside their home while their four children were present.
In the story, the child writes,
“Mother and father got into a fight. Mom told him to get out because he was smoking too much. Father hit mother in the eye. Mother said look what you’ve done… Mother got the gun from under the bed. I was in the living room, and my sisters and brother were in the room. Mother pulled the gun on father and shot three times. The bullets hit the wall. Mother told him to sleep in his car in the driveway and not to come back or she will shoot him again.”
Police arrested Johnson at her home, where they found her locked out of her residence with her 1-year-old and 4-year-old children stuck inside, they told WREG. Deputies reported multiple bullet holes in the living room, bedroom, and hallway walls.
Authorities say Johnson admitted to shooting at her husband at least twice after he allegedly entered the home without permission and began to attack her. Police noted that Johnson had a cut and bruising around her right eye. She was charged with four counts of reckless endangerment and has since been released from jail. She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 23, reports state.
