Clayton County Sheriff’s Office cracked a missing persons case, arresting the person who made the original missing persons report, Law & Crime reported.

Newoker Adrianne Hurt, 45, was arrested in connection with the 2019 murder of her then-boyfriend, Shawn Jackson. According to the outlet, in August of 2019, Hurt allegedly shot Jackson in the head three times and buried his body after finding out he was cheating on her.

“It was later discovered that Mr. Jackson was caught in having an affair,”

the CCSO said in their press release.

“Ms. Newoker Hurt and the victim had a fight in front of the mistress’ house, went home, and fought all day through the night.”

The 17-year-old son of Mr. Jackson said he overheard the couple fighting but said things cooled down by the end of the night. The next morning he learned that his father was missing from Ms. Hurt who claimed that his father

“left them.”

The two filed a missing person’s report for Jackson’s disappearance.

Jackson’s remains were later discovered on the side of the road by residents, according to AL.com. Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen says that on April 20,

“the Clayton County Police Department had compiled enough evidence to arrest and charge Hurt and her brother Shrron Stephan Hurt,”

who reportedly helped her bury the body. They face charges of

“malice murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, tampering with evidence, and concealing the death of another person,”

officials said.
