Young Mother Dies Hours Following Liposuction, Reports Say Procedure Was Done At Shopping Center

A young mother from Venezuela has reportedly died after receiving liposuction at a clinic in a shopping center, according to the New York Post. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night after the mother, 31-year-old Ana Rosa Mavarez Rivero, went to the clinic in Cumaná (Sucre), her hometown, reports Ultimas Noticias.

The woman received lipo laser, which allowed doctors to use a laser in order to cut off the fat, mold the body, and sculpt the cellulite, reports Jams Press. This procedure is reportedly less intrusive than the average procedure.  Following the operation, Rivero began to have issues breathing close to 10 p.m. causing relatives to contact emergency officials. Reports say there was an oxygen deficiency at the hospital and they were still waiting for emergency assistance at 2:45 a.m.

In a clip, Rivero’s relatives were heard saying,

“I’m filming in Cumaná and we can’t get an ambulance… Ven911 doesn’t have oxygen so we can’t get out of here.”

The young mother was later transported to the hospital and declared deceased at 4 a.m.

After the incident, authorities began to investigate the doctor who conducted the procedure, Alexander Larrochele. According to The Post, the doctor

“will reportedly be questioned by the Criminal and Forensic Scientific Investigation Corps for 45 days while authorities probe the incident.”
