Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman born Sept. 1 1996 is an American actress and singer, known mononymously as Zendaya.
She has received various accolades, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
Time Magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2022.
Her father is African-American, with Nigerian ancestry, while her mother has German and Scottish ancestry.
At 8, Zendaya joined a hip-hop dance troupe called Future Shock Oakland and was a member for three years. She also spent two years dancing hula with the Academy of Hawaiian Arts.
In an interview with Vogue Italia, Zendaya spoke about her style, fashion, making clothes a tool of expression, and the fearlessness that comes with expressing who she is in whatever piece she’s wearing.

Zendaya’s close friend and longtime stylist Law Roach announced his retirement. Prior to his retirement, he was a fashion stylist, best known for his work with Zendaya, Céline Dion, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Despite announcing his retirement in March due to ‘lies and politics’, the industry’s prime racism, and unconcealed nepotism, Law has continued to work with Zendaya in a bigger role as her creative director.
“I think of it like when I’m playing a character, it’s kind of what Law and I would do on a red carpet, we pick and create these characters, and I’ve enjoyed it so much over the years. I’ve always loved fashion,”
said the actress.
“I’ve always loved clothes and they were in many ways a tool of expression. Fashion has taught me so much about myself and how to be so much more fearless in a lot of different ways. It has also helped me in other avenues of my life whether it be business or even as an actress to be more fearless and to not be so concerned with other people’s points of view of what I look like or what I am wearing,”
