21 Savage doesn’t quite believe that money solves all problems, especially considering his analogy of having broke parents versus rich parents. The rapper was invited to Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, where he opened up about his life challenges as a young and immature man and as a parent.

21 Savage’s Rich And Broke Parent Explanation On Club Shay Shay

Following an intense week of fans and critics analyzing Katt Williams’ controversial interview with Shannon Sharpe, he invited 21 Savage to Club Shay Shay. This time, it was an insightful discussion as the American Dream rapper detailed his life experiences, including parenthood.

21, who has achieved incredible success in his career and can afford anything money can buy, explained why he prefers having broke parents over rich ones. Even though the rapper has approached parenthood from a privileged perspective, as mentioned in HipHopDX, he remarked:

“I feel like I don’t fully fulfill my responsibilities as a parent because of my career. So I try to balance that out. It’s like you work hard to achieve success and all the good things, but I believe the best parents – in my opinion – are the ones who don’t have it all. I feel like broke parents are better than rich parents because when you’re broke, you have more time.”

During their conversation, 21 acknowledged that money can make kids happy by providing them with nice gifts. However, it cannot buy time — both men agreed that time is the most valuable thing a child needs and appreciates.

21 Savage’s Thug Life Experience — He was Shot Six Times

In the Club Shay Shay interview, 21 Savage shared the details of his life as a young man living recklessly. Eventually, he was shot six times on his birthday. Although he had a companion during the horrifying incident, his friend died instantly from a gunshot wound.

As an adult and a family man, 21 advises against street life. His time on the streets was a result of neglect at home. He became a rebellious boy who transformed into a street kid in search of validation. Despite the street fight that landed him in the hospital, 21 has refused to be a victim; instead, he used the challenges life handed him to rise like a phoenix.
