Alabama Mass Shooting Leaves At Least One Confirmed Dead and More Than 20 Injured

More than 20 people have been injured, and multiple children were killed with numbers still rising, following a mass shooting during a Sweet 16 in Dadeville, Alabama, Saturday night, according to law enforcement on the scene, per CBS News

The shooting occurred at around 10:30 p.m. at the Mohagany Masterpiece dance studio near East Green Street and North Broadnax Street in Dadeville, Alabama, according to the twice weekly newspaper. 

WRBL said the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation, Dadeville Police, and the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office have all responded to the scene, citing law enforcement sources. 

Law enforcement officials have not confirmed how many people were killed in the shooting as of yet however, more than 20 people were shot and have been transported to the hospital in unknown conditions. Police have not released any information regarding if any individual connected to the shooting was found or is in custody. 

Dadeville is a small town with a population of about 3,000, according to the US Census Bureau. It is located about 80 miles southeast of Birmingham and 120 miles southwest of Atlanta, reports note. 

The tragedy comes hours after Louisville endured its third mass shooting in the last week.
